Celebrating a past students success! Yasmin has achieved a scholarship at Eastern Florida State College for women's soccar. Yasmin was taught by Miss Farrow and Miss Aldworth during her time at William Rhodes and we invited her back to talk to the junior children about her ambitions. We wish he every success for her future!

Celebrating reading in our pyjamas
Fundraising! We celebrated World Book Day 2019 by decorating biscuits to sell to the other children. The biscuits were reading themed. Also, we had a cake sale for Red Nose Day 2019. Thank you for all of your donations.
Our visit to Chesterfield Museum. On Thursday 10th January, we walked to the Museum to have a look at the World War 1 trenches exhibition. During our topic work this term, we will be learning all about the war. We had a wonderful morning and learnt a lot of information.

Caryl Hart author visit. We had a wonderful an very inspiring day when the author Caryl came into school for the day.
Carsington Water Trip. A fun filled outdoor learning experience. We will be using this trip as a stimulus for some wonderful water writing.

Diwali Day Tuesday 6th November. Today we all learnt about the Hindu festival of light (Diwali) Look at all our colourful work we produced. It was a really fun and interesting day and we loved it!

Inter house football competition 25th October. It was a lovely and sunny afternoon for our first Inter House competition, with all teams playing two games. Everyone had a fantastic time and the games were very close and competitive. The winners were The Peacock Predators. Well done!
Monday 22nd October: Aqua Dan the Superhero! All children had a visit from Aqua Dan and we learnt so much about superheros. We are going to use his visit to inspire some of our own wonderful superhero writing.
